Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros Review

I love novelty. You do something crazy, especially in the realm of food and I’ll pay attention. That’s what won me over about new Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros. I have to admit, I was curious. I wanted to know if it was or wasn’t just a glorified re-interpretation of the same Cinnamon Toast Crunch product that we all know and love. Don’t get me wrong, I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but I wanted to try something genuinely new. Long story short, I decided to get myself a box. Here is what I experienced.

Now this might sound surprising, but after the first bite you immediately know that this is something fresh and new. It’s not just a simple novelty, its a genuinely new product in the family of Cinnamon Toast Crunch products. Firstly the cereal’s texture actually feels a lot like a churro. It doesn’t get soggy quickly and it has that doughy, yet firm feel just like a churro.

The flavor profile is actually quite different as well. It actually reminds me a lot of Kix, but if Kix was mixed with churro dough and everything was coated in that wonderful cinnamon sugar from Cinnamon Toast Crunch. There are even grooves running down the individual pieces of cereal that hold the cinnamon sugar, so no piece is not perfectly sweet.

The Bottom Line

I am surprised I’m saying this, but this cereal is actually a home-run for me. It really tastes like a cereal version of churros, right down to the density of the mini churros and cinnamon sugar. I usually don’t do this much, but I might get myself a few more boxes of this before they decide to discontinue it. Check it out. Its really quite good.
